In line 1, the editors of MAMA IV were able to read traces of the first two letters of the word γ̣υ̣[ναι]|κί. In 1955, the left hand side of the stone was concealed, and Ballance was unable to read the first four letters of line 2. In 2004, when I saw this stone at Şuhut, the whole of line 2 was once again visible, with discoloration on the left-hand edge of the stone where it had previously been concealed behind another block.
The adjective (‘lawfully wedded’) is more common in verse inscriptions than in prose, but compare MAMA IV 79 (Synnada), [Ἀ]κύλλιος Μενεκράτους [Τ]ατίᾳ Δημοκλέους γυναι[κὶ κ]ουριδίᾳ κτλ.; MAMA X 75 (Appia), Γράπτη Ἰανουαρίου γυνὴ κουριδία ἡρωίς; SEG 45, 1698 (Ankyra).
