Λούκιος
Μανιας (?)
Ζόῃ γυνε-
κὶ ἀνέσ-
5τησεν
[μνήμης]
[χάριν]
Loukios Manias (?) set this up for his wife Zoe, [in memoriam].
The reading in line 2 appears certain. A male name *Μανιας is apparently unattested elsewhere; it is possible that the single unpublished example cited by Zgusta 1964: 294 §865-5, allegedly from Isauria (‘IS: Λούκιος Μανιας Ineditum – Wiener Scheden’), is in fact identical to the text published here. It is, however, hard to see what else the sequence of letters could represent; the woman’s name Μανια is very common in this region, but a metronym (‘son of Mania’) seems unlikely.
