Funerary stele for Attas and Manes

Funerary stele.
Location:
Yaraşlı (Kinna): in a wall of a house of the north side of the village (with MAMA XI 234 [1957/12]).
Description:
Grey limestone stele, broken above. Pediment almost entirely missing; lines 1-2 of inscription on upper moulding, line 3 in sunken panel on shaft. Panel with four stepped fillets above and below, single fillet at left and right; plain pilasters to left and right. On the lower part of the panel, incised depictions of animal-legged tripod table with one-handled skyphos resting on top, billhook, sickle, plough and spade.

Α̣ὐρ(ήλιος) Μεῖρος ἰδίων τέκνω[ν]
Α̣ττᾳ καὶ Μανῃ ἀνέστησ̣[ε]ν μνη-
μόσυνον.
Aur(elius) Meiros set up this memorial for his own sons Attas and Manes.

For the use of the term μνημόσυνον in this context (in place of the normal μνήμης χάριν), cf. RECAM II 408 (Şerefli Koçhisar), Κλαυδία Μουνεως [ἰ]δίᾳ ἀνδρὶ Ἑρενίῳ Πωλίωνι μν⟨η⟩μόσυν[ο]ν.
